Echocardiograms are vital for diagnosing heart conditions, utilizing advanced ultrasound technology to capture detailed images of the heart. At our cutting-edge facilities in Yarrabilba and Springwood, we offer this service with the highest standards of care. Our echocardiography machine ( E 95 ) delivers information about strain and GLS which are advanced cardiac imaging techniques for diagnosing early subclinical LV dysfunction.
At Yarrabilba Cardiology, we offer Stress Echocardiograms, a key test to assess how your heart functions under physical stress. This procedure combines echocardiography (ultrasound imaging of the heart) with exercise, usually by walking on a treadmill or cycling on a stationary bike. It helps evaluate your heart’s performance when working harder, which is important for diagnosing conditions like coronary artery disease. By measuring how well your heart functions during exercise, this test provides valuable insights into your heart’s health and capacity, guiding effective treatment decisions.

A Holter & Event Monitor is a portable device worn continuously(24hrs to 30 days) to record your heart’s electrical activity. To monitor rhythm of the heart to detect cardiac arrhythmia or various degree heart block in the group of patients who present palpitation, presyncope or syncope. It also helps to capture live signals of patient symptoms.

An Event Monitor is similar but is worn for a longer duration, typically a few weeks. Instead of continuously recording, it is activated by the patient when symptoms occur, such as dizziness, palpitations, or chest discomfort. Both monitors are non-invasive and provide valuable insights for diagnosing conditions such as atrial fibrillation, tachycardia, or bradycardia. We use advanced technology in monitoring our Patients.

Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitor is a compact digital device worn continuously for a full day, allowing your blood pressure to be measured as you go about your regular daily activities, including during periods of rest and sleep. This test provides a more accurate and comprehensive assessment compared to a single, one-time reading in our clinic.

By tracking your blood pressure throughout the day and night, your doctor can gain valuable insights into fluctuations and patterns that may not be visible in a standard reading. This continuous monitoring helps in diagnosing conditions like hypertension more accurately and in tailoring treatment plans based on how your blood pressure responds to different activities and rest periods. It’s an essential tool for managing your heart health effectively.

At Yarrabilba Cardiology, our Stress ECG evaluates how your heart performs under physical exertion. During the test, you’ll walk on a treadmill while connected to an ECG machine, allowing us to monitor your heart’s electrical activity in real time. This provides crucial insights into your heart’s response to stress, helping our cardiologists detect abnormal rhythms or reduced blood flow that may not appear on a resting ECG.

Typically lasting 10-15 minutes, the Stress ECG aids in diagnosing conditions such as coronary artery disease and helps assess the effectiveness of treatments. Our advanced Strain Imaging, using speckle-tracking technology, further enhances this evaluation by detecting early signs of cardiomyopathy and tracking treatment progress with precision.

At Yarrabilba Cardiology, we offer comprehensive ECG reporting services to ensure accurate and timely analysis of your heart’s electrical activity. Once your Electrocardiogram (ECG) is performed, our experienced cardiologists meticulously review the results to diagnose and manage heart conditions like arrhythmias, heart failure, and more. We also provide ECG reporting options for GPs.

A CT Coronary Angiogram (CTCA) and Coronary Artery Calcium (CAC) Score are non-invasive diagnostic tests that provide detailed imaging of the coronary arteries to assess heart health. The CTCA helps detect plaque buildup (cholesterol or calcium) in the arteries, which can lead to blockages and is commonly used for patients with symptoms like chest pain or abnormal test results.

The CAC Score measures calcium in the heart’s arteries, providing a personalized assessment of cardiac risk, even before symptoms appear. This is particularly useful for individuals with risk factors such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or a family history of heart disease.

Both tests are performed at our specialist radiology center and are reported by our expert cardiology team.
